How does the R.O. System work?
"R.O." is Reverse Osmosis. This is the natural process which sets the foundation of R.O. Systems. It may sound technical, but osmosis is a natural organic phenomenon, a process that occurs in nature on a continuous basis. Vegetation, like trees, plants and flowers attain their nutrients by using osmosis to draw water from the soil

The process works
like this:
The pressure from a household tap or a booster pump forces water through a semipermeable membrane. This membrane separates the everyday household water at a molecular level. The membrane acts like a filter to isolate the contaminants*, reducing them so that the water becomes purer, Reverse Osmosis water, with substantially reduced dissolved solids and contaminants.

Whole House Reverse Osmosis Units
	Reverse Osmosis: A simple, proven process of water purification. A vital step in a complete water purification process, reverse osmosis or RO, removes ionic, organic and suspended impurities from water following proper conditioning of the raw water supply. Unlike conventional filtration, reverse osmosis separates the feedwater into two streams. The feedwater flows under pressure into a semipermeable RO membrane element called a sepralator. The sepralator allows the purified water or permeate to pass through the membrane while rejecting the dissolved or suspended solids in a separate, concentrated stream. The purified water is then piped to your application or to a storage thank where it is ready for use.

Iron Horse

The IRON HORSE water technologies newest and finest innovation for removing iron, manganese and sulfur from your water supply.

How the IRON HORSE works... The IRON HORSE uses a very quiet and oilless air compressor to put a large amount of air (oxygen) into the IRON HORSE retention tank. The IRON HORSE air compressor is wired into the controller. Whenever activated, the air compressor also starts up and forces air into the IRON HORSE. The air enters the tank and is forced down to the bottom of the tank through a PVC pipe. The air is forced down this pipe and is expelled into the tank in the form of thousands of bubbles which start to rise upward through the water. Incoming raw water enters the top of the tank and is sprayed into a small air pocket that starts to oxidize the iron and manganese ions. This incoming water must now flow downward to the outlet pipe located near the bottom of the

tank. As air bubbles are rising throughout the water and the new water is flowing downward, a turbulence between the aware and the air is created. The turbulence insures that all the incoming water is completely mixed with oxygen at an accelerated rate. The iron and manganese ions are converted from the ferris form to the ferric within two minutes. Much less time than other methods presently available on the market. As the iron and manganese ions are now in the enlarged ferric form they are easily removed by SUNSHINE'S filters or by many filters that may already have been installed in the home or business.
