Reverse Osmosis for Proven Water Purification
Water is essential. If your water is compromised, it can impact all parts of your life. It can even affect your health. That's why water purity should always be a primary concern.
At McIntyre's Soft Water Services, we can make sure your water is clean and ready to drink with reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis is a vital part of the water purification process. Also known as RO, it removes ionic, organic, and suspended impurities from your raw water supply.
It sounds really technical, but reverse osmosis is actually inspired by a natural process. Osmosis occurs all the time in nature. All plants get nutrients by using osmosis to draw water from the soil around them.
When we use it in your home, we're filtering the water through a semipermeable membrane. This separates your water at a molecular level. By eliminating contaminants, you'll get pure water with reduced dissolved solids.
Find out if you can benefit from a five-stage reverse osmosis system. These systems are easy to install, and they fit right under your sink. Call McIntyre's Soft Water Services for a free in-home water test. We're a team you can trust with over 62 years of experience and price matching on our services. Trust us with your water!
A Closer Look at the Reverse Osmosis Process
To work, reverse osmosis separates the feedwater into two streams. With pressure, this feedwater then flows into a semipermeable RO membrane called a separator. The separator allows the purified water to pass through the member while rejecting the dissolved or suspended solids.
These rejected parts are moved to a separate, concentrated stream. Then, the purified water is piped to your storage tank or application for you to use. These systems also include activated carbon absorption and conventional filtration to get the job done.
This is the most widely used technology for safe, great-tasting drinking water. The five-stage system maximizes filtration and protection. It can reduce heavy metals, cysts, chlorine, salts, turbidity, and more!
Control Your Total Dissolved Solids
One reason we encourage so many people to upgrade their water with a five-stage reverse osmosis system at McIntyre's Soft Water Services is that we know what lurks in your tap. Many people are surprised to find that their water is full of total dissolved solids that could be putting them or their homes at risk.
Total dissolved solids include mobile charged ions such as minerals, salts, and metals. We can measure how many of these solids are dissolved in your water. Your TDS, therefore, is a measure expressed in parts per million or milligrams per liter. TDS includes any inorganic element that is not pure water or a suspended solid.
Why does TDS matter? Dissolved solids affect everything that drinks, lives in, or uses water. This means everything from plants to your plumbing is impacted. For people, TDS levels can affect your body's ability to stay hydrated. If you have a high TDS level, you are at risk of exposure to harmful contaminants.
The EPA regulates TDS levels. The maximum level recommended for human consumption is 500 ppm. If your levels are higher than that in your drinking water, it may be time to take action. Talk to McIntyre's Soft Water Services about a five-stage reverse osmosis system. We'll get you an estimate within 24 hours.
